About Us
Mission Statement
At River Tides, we believe landscaping should be smart, sustainable, and simple. Our mission is to create beautiful, low-maintenance outdoor spaces that honor the local environment, repurpose with purpose, and serve our community with heart.
We embrace the challenges of our unique coastal landscape by designing with intention—selecting the right plants, minimizing maintenance, and maximizing resilience. Through organic practices, responsible material reuse, and thoughtful sourcing, we strive to tread lightly on the earth while delivering high-quality results.
We treat people—clients, employees, and partners—with respect, empathy, and integrity. We hire and invest locally, communicate clearly, show up on time, and follow through.
Rooted in St. Marys, we are committed to the growth and beautification of our community. River Tides is proud to support local causes, honor native ecosystems, and contribute meaningfully to the place we call home.
Our Vision
At River Tides, we believe landscaping should be smart, sustainable, and simple. Our mission is to create beautiful outdoor spaces that are low-maintenance, environmentally friendly, and built with heart. Here’s what we’re all about:

-
Provide Smart, Low-Maintenance Landscaping
-
We teach why the local landscape is so tricky—and how to work with it, not against it.
-
We’re big fans of lazy gardening: the right plant, in the right place, with the right prep.
-
We help you reduce weeding and maintenance with smart bed design, proper prep, and protection.
-

-
Be Kind to Mother Nature
-
We focus on weed prevention first and use organic methods when possible. For tough cases (like torpedo grass), we’re honest about when stronger options are necessary—but it’s always the last resort.
-
We use native plants and safe cultivars that have a positive impact on our local ecosystem.
-
We rescue usable materials from construction sites - like Trex, lumber, bricks, blocks, and flagstone - and turn them into beautiful things: trellises, pergolas, garden boxes, potting sheds, patios, and more.
-
We source new materials from suppliers that minimize their impact on our ecosystem
-

-
Treat People with Kindness and Empathy
-
We hire local employees and provide them with a responsible wage, and provide small but meaningful perks—like meals and learning and advancement opportunities.
-
We value our customers’ time and we commit to communicate thoroughly, be on time and follow through with quality results.
-
We value a partner network that has the experience in their individual crafts and hold similar values to ours
-
-
Community Commitment
-
We believe in the beautification of St. Marys and beyond.
-
We keep it local
-
We give back to local organizations and causes
-
We respect our local ecosystems
